Sometimes I just want to stay in my PJs all day. I’m especially inclined to do so when they look this good! Yes, you can wear your pyjamas in the daytime, yes it is socially acceptable and yes, it can look chic.
I’m not saying you should roll out of bed and head straight to the office in your panda onesie (I’ve got one of those too), but you can take your twin-set to new heights with a pair of heels, layer a silk or lace nightdress over a polo neck or incorporate your satin dressing gown or robe over a crisp white shirt and black cigarette pants for an instant outfit update! My cotton tiger print pyjamas are from Desmond & Dempsey, a couple who started a brand because she would always steal his shirts to sleep in; tres sexy. Silky styles are better suited for nights out as they are more forgiving and flatter your bottom half, but this cotton set has the perfect print for daytime!
I personally feel the art of successful pyjama dressing lies with your accessories and how you wear your hair (I don’t have much option with that at the moment lol) and makeup. The full pyjama look needs height to take the look from supermarket dash to evening glam – platforms or open toe sandals are the way to go here, court shoes are way too formal and instantly take away the glam factor. I’ve paired them with the classic Saint Laurent Jane sandal in gold, as well as my Cult Gaia Japanese picnic bag for a lunch date with my friend. Making the most of the flattering neckline, I added this super thin bow and chain choker from Urban Outfitters which you can grab here.
